For March, the beer tasters head to a new (for us) venue, Blackbird Brewing in Wake Forest! Blackbird boasts that its craft beer is “no mere beverage”. “Each drop, each pint, is a form of history, anthropology and sociology.” They brew “authentic European styles, expressive IPAs, tart fruit beers, stouts and barleywines”. Additionally, they offer cider, wine, non-alcoholic beers and soft drinks; in fact, we shall be there for wine-flight Wednesday. And we’ll also have an opportunity to learn crokinole, a dexterity game described as a mix of table-top marbles, shuffleboard and curling!
Food: Blackbird does not serve food. Local options include Romeo’s Pizza, Wayback Burgers, TDLLO Sushi and Ramen, and Cape Fear Seafood Company.
