SUMMARY:Wake Walkers and Headed Out
DESCRIPTION:We are headed out to another Triangle Land Conservancy nature preserve! \nBrumley North is one of the more popular areas to explore within the Brumley Forest Nature Preserve. We will hike a route that loops four different trails together in approx. 3.4 miles with an elevation of 114 ft. No mountain bikes allowed on the Brumley North trails! \nOriginal inhabitants were the Eno\, Lumbee\, and Shakori people. In the 1800’s\, this land was part of the Strayhorn Plantation\, one of the largest slave-owning plantations in Orange Co. In the 1990’s\, George and Julia Brumley purchased this land to stop a proposed development; the land was sold in 2010 to the TLC for public use. \nBring water and remember a hat and sunscreen!\nAfter this hike\, we will travel a short distance into Hillsborough to have lunch at Hillsborough BBQ Co.
